Substitutions?

I’m not sure I would make substitutions for this Mustard Brown Sugar Glazed Salmon. You need the wine for the marinade. Old Bay Seasoning is in the spice aisle of your market, but you can try to make it yourself, if you want. Dijon mustard can be substituted for spicy brown mustard, if necessary.

How to make salmon with mustard and brown sugar glaze:

The first thing to do is to prepare some marinade for the salmon. The marinade is made with white wine, butter and Old Bay seasoning. It is warmed up in a saucepan and brought to a boil for about 3 minutes. The marinade is poured over the salmon and the salmon is baked for 12 to 14 minutes until just about done. The cooking time of the salmon varies depending on the thickness of the salmon fillet.

Take the cooked salmon out of the oven and place the icing on it. The frosting is a simple mixture of spicy brown mustard and brown sugar.

The mustard-brown sugar glazed salmon is then grilled until the filling is brown and bubbly – about 3 minutes. Sprinkle with a little chopped fresh parsley, if desired. It just makes it pretty.

I love to serve salmon with my all time favorite avocado and pine nut salad. Makes it a full dinner for me, but it’s always nice to add a few roasted potatoes too much. Enjoy!

What is the best kind of salmon to buy for dinner?

I think it’s fun to try different kinds of salmon. I usually buy salmon from Costco, where the price is pretty good. Try Atlantic for the traditional salmon that you’re probably used to getting from restaurants. Or try coho or sockeye salmon for a slightly different texture and flavor.
